SERENDIPITOUS: Lucky in making unexpected & fortunate discoveries; lucky; having or bringing good fortune.
[from the characters in the Persian fairytale, The Three Princes of Serendip, who made such discoveries].

Little man's room has been needing revitalization for a growing kiddo. One thing holding this off is that he loves, loves, really loves, well loved his bed. Oops! Yes, we had a tragedy. His bed frame broke this weekend. It was very old and just gave way. while he is broken hearted, I am thinking of the possibilities. Namely this one posted here the other day. I immediately fell in love with this bed. I even called the Travelin' Mister in to see it. I was thinking it would make a fun guest bed for the sun room, but now in light of this tragic development, I think it would make a great big kid room. With this on one side of the room and the opposite wall in chalkboard. Maybe a short and tall ladder painted cute to reach varying heights on the chalkboard and buckets filled with chalk. Who wouldn't want to hang out in there? Travelin' man thinks I'm crazy, but I think it's just too cool. I even like the lanterns from the ceiling, but of coarse in boy colors! or maybe Little Man and I could make a great big funky mobile to hang. Since I'm almost finished with the kitchen (yes, I know I've been saying this for months, but I really am close now), I will be starting this ASAP! I should tell you that the mister's response was..."What's wrong with just leaving his matress and box springs on the floor? You know college day style" Rest assured, I let him know what was wrong with that idea!!!

  1. too funny!! our husbands sound alike. I just look at my husband like he has just been dropped on his head with some of the things he comes up with. I mean these men are living with "Virgos" for goodness sakes. I'm sure what ever you plan it will be gorgeous, keep us posted

  2. Men (insert eye roll here)!!!

I think that photo looks fab, it could be a great room for a boy.

Look forward to seeing what you do!! :)

  3. I love that bed and the paper lanterns (In one of my previous therapy rooms...which was so calming and chic...I had all white paper lanterns hiding a horrible fluorescent light fixture.)

Looking forward to your final design for his room.

And "Hello" to Bunny in previous comment.

  4. I fell in love with that bed setting too! I hope I can have a little bed nook where I can read to my kids just as pretty one day!

  5. I just adore the bed and the frames and the lanterns. Everything about it is wonderful.

  6. Oh wow! That's very beautiful!

  7. I love the ceiling collection! It's so fun and colorful. Are some of those pon poms from the Martha collection?

  8. Oh my word I love that bed. I have been working on my son's room he is 5 and wanted a baseball room. I could have totally worked that bed in there. Oh wait on to the guest room next that would so work. Thanks for your inspiration.

You make my day when you leave me comments!! xoxo kim
