Coming this October...

I think the very first designer and design theory I absolutely fell in love with was Rachel Ashwell and the idea of Shabby Chic. Until I learned from her that found objects can be incorporated into a beautiful, fashionable home, I felt I had to apologize for all my treasures that I based my decor on. I was so sad to hear she was closing her doors last year, and heartbroken following her through that process on her blog...

Only an ultra savvy, strong and driven individual could create the empire she built. I knew she would endure and re-group and bring us something amazing...
After twenty years of wonderful ideas, and beautiful images...

wonderful quotes of inspiration...

A fresh new book to join ALL her others on my book shelf!!! It is like being a little girl again and waiting for my birthday or Santa to bring me the doll I've wanted all year! I absolutely can not wait to get my hands on this book!!

  1. Hi, I too have all her books, but I had no idea she was closing her doors!! I know you can purchase a few things at Target, but anywhere else??? I use her fabrics on the cushions on the chairs under my pergola, I hope her fabric line will still be available!!
I love the chintz cushions in that beautiful blue fabric, can they still be purchased?? I need some for the outdoors on an old iron french bench I have...

  2. Hi Kim :)
I think Rachel Ashwell was probably the first person who introduced me to Shabby Chic as a way of decorating - I love her! This book looks wonderful, I am going over to Amazon right now!
Great post - love the images you have shown.

  3. Check her website for availability. I know she was planning to continue her Target collection and some other things, but closed all her stores. So sad.

  4. Really, Really sad/ I was just telling my husband this morning...my biggest fear about the recession is that when it all comes around the only thing left will be the big box stores...and that will not be good...the sweet small stores and personal different items they carry are what makes shopping fun...
Please everyone with a small business hang in there...
I to have all Rachels books and am looking forward to her new one...she always has interesting ideas to use everyday things...
Have a great week. Regards, Carol Ann
